We're Off!

The day has come and there's an eerie calm as we look over our luggage one last time.  The kids are very curious as to what tomorrow will bring.  As for now, "there's no more sleeps here", as Ella would say, and it's time to go.  Tonight we sleep on the plane and then we wake up to our new lifestyle, one of vagabonds traveling city to city.  By the way, the dictionary describes a vagabond as, "a person without a permanent home who moves from place to place".  But then it goes on to say "irregular in course of behavior" and "unpredictable".  You can draw you're own conclusions.

One Week and Counting

Well, we asked for it and now we're officially homeless! Two huge moving sales later, and let the adventure begin. It's amazing how much stuff Angie, I mean the family, can accumulate. So now each person gets one suitcase to last them the next 365 days. While this can be a bit challenging as we weigh one item over another (factoring in its weight), it feels great to know you can survive, and even thrive, with so little. It will be interesting to see, in a couple of months, what we're missing or what we forgot. Or for that matter, did we over pack?

For now, it's all the last minute loose ends before we leave. Trying to think of everything that might come up over the next year can be a bit of a challenge. While we won't have internet access everywhere we go, we'll certainly do our best to keep everyone up to date. We'll also look forward to getting updates from each of you.

We officially become expats on the 29th and will update you from London.
