The Comics

Besides the chocolate, waffles, and beer, Belgium is also known for its comics. Some of the world’s most famous comic characters were born here including the Smurfs, Tintin, and Lucky Luke. While most of the names are not as familiar in the U.S., they’re everywhere in Europe. The city offers a comics museum, resale stores everywhere, and a tourist map leading you to murals like these, all over town.
