Castle Fun

Well we made it across the pond.  We took the overnight flight (8 hours) but it didn't help much as sleep was hard to come by.  Upon arriving we made our way to Windsor, and as we

rolled in to town, the immense Windsor Castle became visible on the horizon.  The expression on Cole's face was priceless.  Day two we planned to explore the castle and then head in to London.  The castle is the largest occupied castle in Europe and filled a lot of the day.  We watched the changing of the guard and toured the Queen's residence among other things.  The changing of the guard was great and afterwards the band played several entertaining songs.  One of the guards that was off-duty took some photos with Cole and even took his sword out for Cole to hold.  Next we headed into London and little did we know what an adventure that would be!  We weighed our options on using the bus or train and opted for the train.  The plan was to have the train get us in to the city and then we'd take the underground to our hotel.  Well the train got us to the city alright, except we forgot to factor in one minor detail.  We arrived the underground at 4:50pm...RUSH HOUR IN LONDON!  Angie and I had 5 suitcases, 3 carry-on bags, and 3 kids to keep track of.  We had to transfer trains and maneuver up and down several stairs and escalators.  It was quite the sight.  Thank goodness the Londoners were willing to lend a hand with a suitcase here and there and we made it to the hotel worn out but in one piece.
