Mamma Mia!

I'm drinking my second glass of wine right now. How could doing laundry "Italian-style" be so difficult? Bret gives me credit for trying. Little does he know that it took me five times to run
the wash on one set of clothes! I got most of the bubbles out. I don't think the family will really notice when the clothes are dry. They'll just smell very fresh for a long time. That's worth something, right?

I've learned another lesson today: Make sure you thoroughly inspect all clothing before you hang them out the window to dry. Don't leave any stragglers (such as socks and underwear) clinging to your larger garments when pinning them to the clothesline. This happened earlier to me today when I was hanging Bret's shirt out to dry. As I was pinning it to the line, I caught glimpse of a little fluffy pink sock hanging on for dear life. It gave up and tumbled its way down to the apartment below. Our neighbors had their shutters open just far enough to catch the runaway garment. I have not met them, nor would I even know which door to knock on in this apartment building to try and retrieve it. I can only imagine the smile on the neighbor's face tomorrow when they open their shutters to find a lone sock lying on their windowsill!
