Where In The World...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We don’t exactly have any snow, but it’s still starting to look a lot like Christmas. Christmas trees are starting to pop-up everywhere, the shops and markets are bustling, and the kids are busy making lists for Santa (Babbo Natale or Father Christmas as he’s known in these parts). It’s very fun to see how other parts of the world celebrate and we’ll certainly update you again from Spain and Portugal.  In the meantime here are a few pictures from around Rome.

This tree sits in Piazza del Popolo with St. Peter's Basilica looming about 2 miles away.
The candy store around the corner has this window display, made of 100% chocolate.
This tree lights up an area near the Vittorio Emanuele Monument.

People definitely have the holiday spirit, but overall we were surprised at how low-key the decorations are in Rome. Piazza Navona on the other hand is the exception to the rule. Here they get it all out of their system in a Christmas carnival sort of way.
More late-night shoppers in Piazza Navona.

This electric tree sits midway up the Spanish Steps.
You see "Auguri" everywhere which translates to "Best Wishes".
