While the 4th of July is not exactly an Italian holiday, we managed to find a party put on by the Italian-American Association. We went with a family we met from Gainsville, Florida that has four kids. The event had all kinds of events for the kids; from arts and crafts, to horse and pony rides, to an Alice In Wonderland play. For the adults it was live music, dance, and a special polo match. After the match, the kids took over the field for some soccer. I had read that they were going to be grilling burgers and hot dogs, so we were a little surprised to walk in and find McDonalds handing out food. How American is that? A little later in the party though, we found the real grill which made Angie's day.
